The "Talk About Other Cars Here" Thread

Alright, this is going to be the thread to rant, rave, imo, or whatever about any car you wanna do the above about. I'll start it off by talking about the 2007 Tahoe and Yukon. I like the Tahoe a lot. It has an agressive front end (which means the Silverado will have the same so it will look tough up against the F-150, Ram, Titan) and the interior is a huge improvement, a big step forward for GM.......same thing with the Yukon too. But the only thing I have to complain about the Yukon is, why does the grill look so "childish" imo. The front end of it kinda reminds me of a smiley face. Anyways, good job GM on this rendition of the new SUVs, can't wait to see the new Escalade and Outlook!

nice looking SUVs there. I cant wait to see the RWD muscle come back into the scene. GM needs to get on the ball with a full size RWD platform. Not the imaginary impala or monte carlo because they are both FWD and are remaining that way.

The Monte Carlo is so ridiculous because they put a new front end on it, and a new interior, but didn't bother to redo the side or the back so it just looks really wierd, and ugly, imo. If the impala was rwd, then it would really be a true 300c/magnum/charger fighter. Still lots of power though, but it needs to be rwd.

Agreed there needs to be a GM rep besides the Cavalier styled GOAT. dont get me wrong its faster then my car but still they could have done something for style but no they looked to what they already have and bam a RWD cavalier is born. The mustang is a joke on wheels. The style is well it is they tried to hard to make it older muscle and in my opinion they failed and the car is underpowered but then again almost every mustang are. The GT series is a joke as well for every year except the 04-present which is still laughable amount of power for a muscle car. The only thing ford has going is that they have the Cobra's for a power house. im not saying the charger/300c/magnum is a rocket but they fit their need nicely a full size powerful car. The goat fits its need but needs some serious looks attached and as for the mustang they need to only make the cobra and keep grandma from the convertible v6 POS.

Now to whats good in new cars.

Fisrt by bias is the SRT-8 charger 450 hp full size car and the power to whoop some ass and for 35 its in the right market to handle the GTO and the vettes of its era. The 06 cobra is a bad ass joy ride of a true muscle car. The only thing to make it better is redo the front end a bit. There is a fog lamp package that gives it the elanore look which is BAD ASS. GM swings back with the SS Trailblazer. Big motor big truck AWD. Thats the best they bring to the market. The Vette is like the Viper overpriced and underpowered. Things like the GTO and SRT8 series cars are 20k less and just as fast with more creature comforts.

Ya, but you can't beat the vipers or vette's styling. Plus, some people don't want a 400hp suv, when they can get a 400hp 2 seater instead. But I get what you are saying.

I don't think the GTO was styled off the Cavalier. More like it was not styled at all. It looks just like a Holden Monaro except for the Pontiac grill. Actually, I did't think the Cavalier coupe was a bad looking car until they ruined the grill.

Glad to see someone else agrees with me on the Mustang. The original shape is there but it looks like one of the Pinewood derby cars I might have scultped on a disc sander in Scouts. I hate the fender flares and the way the rear sail panel window was just stuck on. The whole thing has a really cheap look.

I saw my first Solstice yesterday. Now thats styling! Makes me think twice about another Vette.

What the Impala has going for it is power. What it has against it is style. Just compare the styling of it to the 300C. Once again, GM is messing up in the styling deptartment, which they do frequently. But they are trying to make a come back with the new interiors, but it's still gonna take some really cool designs for their future cars....like the tahoe, vastly improved styling. The GTO is great, but I think the exterior is a little to plain. As for the mustang, not a fan of retro and it just doesn't strike me as being cool. Now, the cobra, well I'll change my tune. The cobra is an awesome car. The mustang concept that was seen a few years ago actually looked good and made me think that maybe retro isn't so bad. But unfortunately, very few cars make it to production looking like the concepts.

The vette is my favorite car. I love the styling, power, etc... The new Z06 is the best performance to dollar car out there! 0-60 in 3.7.....Incredible.
The Solstice is a good refresh for Pontiac. I'm sure it won't be as successful as the Sky, but it's what Pontiac needs. There are rumors about them tubing, maybe the Solstice can save them, and yeah the G6 too. Torrent might help sales but the GP sure doesn't.
