License Plate, what's it mean?

Well here's one for you people that are good at reading license plates, I suck at it. I bounced this off my friends, they said it's probably like a last name or something, I doubt it...

Anyways, driving in rush hour traffic in Pittsburgh, saw a new Mustang GT, 2004 vette, and then this RX-8, fun times in only 15 minutes of rush hour. But on the back of the RX-8 was the license plate "1 SHILBY" (one s-h-i-l-b-y) any thoughts what that might mean?

Many people are better at this than me, and this has sorta been running around in the back of my mind cause I can't figure it out.

I could sort have understood that on a Mustang, or something like that (shelby, 1 shelby, etc), but on a RX-8?

I was thinking maybe that too, so I was focused on making sure I caught up with the car to see the driver. It was a guy driving by himself, tinted windows, and he was driving in the typical cocky guy thing, which made me think he probably owned the car.

With the price you pay for a custom plate, maybe he had an old Shelby, or old Mustang with the plate before the RX7. Maybe the RX7 has no plates and he was using that one. I drive my Corvette with the Saturn plates all the time.

RX-8 but same thing (much better LOOKING car imo).

and good point, didn't think about that (though the fact the guy couldn't have been more than 23 or so made me not think about that).

out of curiousity, though, what year vette do you have?

yea there's some 40-50's year old guy that has 2 of the same year as yours I think running around the Mt Washington/Mt Oliver area around here, trying to remember the colors, I'm thinking blue and white, maybe red. Why he has 2 of the exactly the same, I don't know, but he does.
