Another craptacular TOG header

I know everyone already knows this, and there are plenty of other pictures out there, but I need to vent to someone.

FYI, a good way to avoid bad welds is apparently to not weld at all! (see pic 1)

On another note, is anyone else seriously contemplating any further mods? I know I am after this. I am just so frustrated.

And I know people have talked about filing credit card complaints, but will a check card through Wells Fargo work? I only ask because I JUST got my header and haven't made the call yet. Hopefully I can get my money back. Otherwise, I will flip.

That might be the worst one yet... I am sorry dude.... WOW... If you can't get your money back, a decent metal shop would probably fix it for you, for a cost. At least the plate and the flange are flush and the tubes are cut/bent right, so once the welds are good, is should be a pimptasic header. But you didn't pay over 400 dollars for the parts to make your own header.

And I tried to take a picture of the rust in one of the primaries, but it wouldn't show up.

if you cannot get your money back, get a poxy called coldweld. It is stiff as hell and can handle to like ... i dont even know how hot. it will seal that no problem.

A: Do not put any epoxy on that hedder.
B: Make sure that it is welded on the inside.
C: It is typical that the runner to the flange is welded on the inside and tacked on the outside. This creates a better transition from the head->flange->runner.
D: The same goes for the collector. As long as it is welded on the inside it doesn't matter much outside.
E: As far as the welds are concerned, they aren't that bad for a MIG weld.
F: Rust inside the primaries is not an issue. This is coated MILD steal not stainless. It is going to happen. If it were stainless, then you would be up here complaining about price and it would most likely be TIG welded and even more expensive yet.
G: Just bolt it on and have fun. If it leaks and/or doesn't perform then complain.

Food for thought:: don't be so critical specially if you really aren't familiar with common practices

You have to work for TOG or HotShot because that is crappy work, period. You bitch and send anything back that is not what you bought and man that is not what he bought. Nobody should put up with nor accept the shitty product that this has turned out to be. This is crap, period, no more story to tell. Hell, GM gets bitch slapped all the damn time around here and someone outright steals our money, then disappears like a fart in the wind and that is something to accept and live with? WTF?

He's Ant, formerly of PSI-Fi. He's on the wrong side of the country to work for TOG.

That is a joke. It's like the welder said "forget it, I'm not even going to bother with the rest." I thought the Scdyne hearders were bad. If someone would have spend more than 30 minutes on it, heck it doesn't even look like they invested that much time into it, that could be a nice looking header.
