How the hell does stg 2 cause the booster line to blow off?
I guess too much boost in the manifold will cause the brake booster line to come off if it's not zip tied or hose clamped. I asked the same thing, but it was in a thread where the guy had just smashed his car into two SUV's at 80mph. So I didn't get too much info. Apparently this has happened to more than one person over there. You might want the check the Chicagoland SRT Club's site, make sure that if you go that route, that you don't have that happen to you!

I don't want to get into an arguement or anything over it. Just stating to pork, that buying an SRT isn't going to make everything a cake walk.

Boy that can get dicey... How do you complain that you got into a wreck because your stage kit blew off the brake booster line and the damn kit is off road only... Man, that could get really interesting...

I'm gonna take it out next weekend, check all the connections, make sure the MAF is sealed in right.

If it still isn't working, might have to switch to K&N CAI. I just don't like taht feeling of...hmm, SHOULD I go WOT? I really don't feel like pulling to the side of the road and letting it sit for a minute

Get your codes read. I'd be curious to see if you're throwing the same ones as me.

JPK has the same issue with his, he slapped on the pulley and everytime he'd take his car past 5K I believe, it would go into limp mode. I'm betting there is a condition set that is telling the ECM that something is way off thus throwing you and him into limp mode. I wonder if a clogged cat would do that? I mean if you think about it, you are pushing more air in and if there is a restriction in the cat, then maybe exhaust is building up too much.........just a thought. With these cars there are so many things that it can be.

meh I am more interested in the srt blowing brake lines. Stage 2 is really just a new computer, injectors and wastegate so just kicking up the boost would also do this. I have all my lines clamped anyways.

I run the 2.8 pulley and it has never gone into limp mode. After I went to the track and ran the same time's i did when I was stock I wanted to sell the car also. But I am going to keep it and just keep trying. I think the Stage 1 from GM will cure a lot of these problems.

The intake JPK has from me just replaces the Plastic elbow piece with a metal one it wouldn't cause the problem it's just like the AEM setup.
And what filter do have and what was the code...?

for those mentioning this having to do with shorty intakes, do you guys all run oiled element filters? we've done the "home made" route for a few guys with those dry-flow oilless ones and have had 0 issues so far. wonder if oil is still becoming a problem and affecting the MAF for you guys.

It would be nice if we could figure this out then. So, we need info, ie., filter type, code... etc...

My filter isnt oiled and i have had it on my car since i bought it long ago.. Ive never had an issue with the intake before. Maybe when the shop took off my supercharger they messed up the position of my MAF??? Hmmmm Will have to double check tomorrow, if thats the case its an easy fix.

Same. I have a non-oiled filter. Sometimes it does limp mode, other times not.

Next weekend, gonna pull it out and make sure everything's clamped down tight. Pos. look at the MAF, just to make sure it's not dirty, or anything. If I still get the CEL / limp mode issue, will have to consider other routes. Looks like it's hit or miss w/ the DIY shorty...
