Stage Kit warranty concern

I got some interesting information from my dealer. Sorry if this was already posted but I couldn't find it.

According to my dealer service advisor the kit comes with a 1 year warranty and is not covered under the warranty of the vehicle.
"They do come with a 1 year warranty only. Extended warranties are on stock parts only." That would be fine if the car was out of warranty but considering that I bought a 5 year, 120K warranty upgrade that bothers me.

So what happens if after a year a defect in a part like the injector or pulley damages the engine that's under warranty... what happens in that type if situation.

How are they going to damage the engine?

Not saying they would or how it would but any defective part can cause damage to a related part. Just a hypothetical situation.
Was anyone else aware that they were covered under their own warranty and not the warranty of the car? Am I completely off base on this?

but did they say at all that it would void ur warranty.........maybe they just meant that the stage kits come with their own separate warranty but u get to keep the warranty on your stock parts of the car. that's what my dealer here said anyways.

Yeah, that 1 year would be just on the stage kit parts themselves, I assume they don't want to be replacing belts or anything. All the rest of the car remains the same.

Yes, but his question, is if the injectors aren't warrantied past one year, and 13 months later, his injectors screw up, the car goes lean, and siezes the motor, what happens...

You see, the warranty on the motor is intact, but the part that failed was not... so what happens?

You run the same risk with your intake... if you were to have your MAF sensor screw up, and the car siezed up, the could claim a faulty intake modification allowed something to negatively affect airflow readings, or debris/water to enter to motor, allowing the car to lean out and sieze up...

Anyone that is already running a pulley is in the same boat...

Exactly what I meant.
Dealer rep couldn't answer that question.

If it came to that, I'd order a stock intake from some other place, install it, and hope for the best

But good point. Though I'm not TOO concerned. Afterall, we have one tempermental babysitter under our hoods
