What sensor is this???

Is this the MAP sensor? If it is, I think I may have found my problem.

There is a green wire w/ white stripe that comes off of it. A long time ago, I got a shift light. I was told (on this forum) that this is the wire to tap for the shift light. So I cut it and wired the light in. The shift light would never work, not even with a tach adapter, so I just gave it back to my buddy. The problem was that the wires were cut to short to join again so I jumped them with another piece of wire using those red plastic crimpers like you buy at Radio hack. Perhaps the splice is with the cheap dealyboppers is skewing the readings if this is indeed the MAP sensor. It would also explain why I could never get my shift light to work.

Awwwww shit man. How do I fix it? Do you think if I soldered a jumper in there instead of used those plastic crimp connectors it would make a solid connection?

Man, this sucks. That HAS to be the problem. It's gonna suck to have to take off connectors and wire bundles apart to change out that whole wire, but if I have, then I have to. I just want my beast back.

Oh, do you think if I took that particular wire bundle apart that it may provide enough slack to join the wire w/out a jumper?

If that's the problem you owe your car an appology. You've been bad mouthing it all over the boards and you caused the problem.

I was just thinking of something. The dealer would have to replace the ENTIRE wire harness probably, right?

I think this car only has one or maybe two harnesses that spread throughout the entire car. It would be a fucking BITCH!!!

I may take it just to see what they tell me, but I have a bad feeling.

Solder it and then heatshrink the joints and don't be cheap with the heatshrink.. Good knows that I have added enough circuits to this damn harness. Just repair the joints PROPERLY.....

This is the MAP2 sensor. The d-gn/white wire is the map low reference wire, the ground one.

If it's disconnected, the PCM would throw a CEL for sure.

Also, thise wire is not a place to connect a RPM device, it has nothing to do with it.
