Have a few questions

Wuts up people. I recently installed my 3.15" pulley like 2 weekss ago and also put the ngk bkr7e plugs in too(.040 gap). Ive been constantly checking them and have noticed that im getting some detonation with the pulley. The plugs are a little bit green which means its running lean. I have the welfare mod done as my only other modification. Ive been getting 14-14.5 pounds up till redline with the boost bypass, and 14 falling off to 10-11 towards redline without the bypass. My concern is why am i getting detonation? It still backfires when letting off which means there is unburnt fuel. Is there a possibility that theres knock? I have a torque brace too so i dont know how to check. Please anyone that has any ideas help me out.

Thanks in advance

Well first off by having thr torque brace you will be feeling a lot of things you usually wouldn't. That backfire wouldn't be so noticable if it wasn't for them. The can is usually known for having this problem with the boost bypass from what it seems like by everyone. I did the bypass last weekend finally but I haven't really noticed anything yet.

But the bypass it what will be causing your issue. As far as knock...ehh? Not sure. I haven't hooked up the interceptor gauge to monitor it yet.

So your saying that the boost bypass is causing this? Im using a manual boost contoller for the bypass mod. There is no bleeder valve on the boost controller, do you think that is the problem or does that not make a difference?

The backfires are always going to be there, sometimes more, sometimes, less, but they'll be there forever!

If you don't have something to scan for knock, there's no way of knowing if it's knock. Also, make sure you're intercooler is flowing correctly.

Ppl are getting backfires with smaller pulleys? Haven't noticed anyone posting this before.

RE: the intial post, are those stock heat-range plugs? 'Cause Sp00ner & others are saying that stock works better until you get to the really small pulleys.

So you guys are saying that the stock plugs are better for a 3.15" pulley? Also, do you think the boost controller has anything to do with it because it has no bledder valve? Also, yes the car still backfires like it did stock maybe alittle bit more when letting off the gas.

I have been using stock plugs with the old Psi-Fi kit with a 2.8" pulley and havent had any problems. Im also at 6000ft, so that might change things.
