K&N install... Do I need to remove the front bumper?

Hey, just got my k&n cold air intake for 225 shipped ... thought it was a good deal. Its my first performance mod so I'm hoping for some kind of gain. My question is weather or not I have to remove the front bumper to do the install. I know in a lot of cars its not completely necessary but it makes things a hell of alot easier. Any input would be helpful! Thanks.

It's a pain in the butt, but no, you don't need to take off the bumper.

When you have to mount the bracket to the washer fluid bottle the easiest way is to remove the drivers side headlight and horn to get at the bolts. It is a bitch to get at from under the car. Other than that the install is pretty easy, just a little time consuming.

I didn't think it was THAT hard. Like MB said, it's time consuming though.

you're gonna love the sounds it makes. i just refitted mine today. does take the better part of 2-3 hrs the first time. the filter comes over oilled from the factory (has tendancy to collect on the MAF and throw a code) so you may want to clean it off w/ warm water & simple green then re-oil it very lightly. Have fun!

I suggest taking the engine completely out...just think how easily you could access everything!

Sorry about being a smart-ass.
