So anyone with the Exedy able to comment on this thread:

http://www.redlineforums.com/forums/...ch-update.html

Is it really not for street and strip use and is it really noisy engaging like they say?

no you can use it in the street its actually a pretty mild clutch compaired to others made of the same material. they make a dual setup that wouldnt be very street friendly.

I had a GM dealer install a SPEC stage 2 clutch in November and when they checked the flywheel they found it was cracked in half. So I also had them install a Fidanza Aluminum flywheel. So you would be wise to get a new flywheel while someone is in there,(thats if it is in the budget). I used a G-Tech RR on my RL after my 500 mile break-in-period and was able to get a best of 259 HP and my car is stock except for the clutch and flywheel. BTW it cost me just under 2100 with parts and labor. My car only had 17500 on it when I smoked the clutch.

I just called my local parts shop (A&A Auto in Frackville PA) and they ordered my Fidanza flywheel for me, it only took a day to come in. Right now someone on EBAY has a new Fidanza flyweel for 275 plus I think 9 for shiipping, Thats a fantastic deal. Also most of the advertised company's flashing at the top of this page should be able to help you out.

clutch pedal effort on an Exedy twin disc I have found to be less beleive it or not than the single plate; both are easy to manage, the clutch lasts for ever, the Exedy clutch and flywheel is a quality piece; IMHO alloy flywheels are a risky set up durability wise. The production self adjusting clutches need to be preloaded in a press to latch the diaphragm fingers in place before installation. Then once everything is installed and the clutch pedal is depressed the diaphgam self adjusts as the fingers release. Install without doing that and you will get poor disengagement and gear clash..
