Available Aftermarket Clutches

Exedy Flywheel/Clutch combo

Exedy Hyper Single Clutch Kit

Product Image May Not Be Vehicle Specific

Part Number: GH02SD

All Hyper Clutches come with a steel flywheel and a 6-puck disc with cerametallic facing, and a spring center damper. The disc is generally smaller and thinner than the OEM disc making for lower inertia and therefore quicker, easier shifting. The higher clamp load and cerametallic friction facings give approximately twice the holding torque of the OEM clutch and generally higher than other single plate clutches.
Specs

Number of Discs SINGLE
Thin / Thick
Spring Damper Discs
Push / Pull PUSHClamp Load (Lbs) 2655
Spline Major Dia.
Disc Outer Diameter 225
Spline Teeth / Major Diameter 14T / 25

Notice how the LSJ has a spot which will be filled in SEPTEMBER the release date for the clutch kit.

The Exedy Hyper Single Clutch is engineered to optimize performance for cars that are moderately modified, but do not require the clutch capacity of a multi-plate clutch. Similar to Exedy's multi-plate clutches, it has a forged aluminum cover that is anodized purple. The aluminum cover is stiffer than a stamped cover and therefore allows a higher lever ratio to maintain the pedal efforts at a reasonable level.

As with all Exedy Cerametallic Clutches, the street driveability may be marginal due to chattering and harsh engagement characteristics.

Exedy Clutch Kit Includes:

- Exedy pressure plate
- Exedy clutch disc
- Exedy Flywheel
- Exedy recommended alignment tool
- Exedy recommended throwout bearing
- Exedy general clutch installation instructions

Exedy Multiplate Clutch Kit

Part Number: GM022SBL

For high-powered applications EXEDY offers Multi plate clutches. These are designed for hot street action as well as drag, road, and rally racing. All of our multi plate clutches come with a lightweight chromoly steel flywheel, and the famous purple anodized forged aluminum clutch cover. Depending on the application, both strap drive and lug drive models are available. All have T5001 cerametallic friction materials for extreme heat resistance. The multi plate clutches are rated up to 800+ foot pounds of torque at the flywheel. And come with spring damper or solid discs depending on the application.

Specs

Spring Damper Discs NO
Push / Pull
Clamp Load (Lbs) 2426
Spline Major Dia.
Disc Outer Diameter 200
Spline Teeth / Major Diameter 14T / 25

**Please NOTE: To date, there is no proof/evidence of a RL having success with a CM setup...As of 11/4/06, initial steps have been taken in order to file a Class Action Lawsuit against CM for multiple flawed units resulting in thousands of dollars in labor/parts costs, and two potential cases of damaged transmissions. STAGE TWO (MSRP $615)
Types of Driving: Street, Drag, Pulling, Autocross

STAGE TWO+ (MSRP $659)
Types of Driving: Street, Drag, Road Race, Rallye, Pulling, Autocross
For all modified engines making more torque than the stage 2 can support. STAGE FIVE (MSRP $789)
Types of Driving: Drag, Pulling
For extremely modified drag race and pulling engines, or applications that call for a ‘slipper’ clutch/progressive torque-induced engagement. ACT has been looking at the RL/SS for a long time, but until it's out don't hold your breath. The first Saturn clutch took 2 years to release, but it's hands down the best clutch on the market for the Saturn.

It's not fair that performance mods that get you to the point where you need a new clutch are so much cheaper than the clutch itself.

I mean shit, all 4 of my rims didn't even cost as much as the cheapest clutch available.
