Engine swap! '04 RL Engine in an 02 Nissan SER Spec-V

A friend recently blew his 2.5L engine in his 02 Spec V. He is willing to sell it to me. I totalled my car, but my engine runs still and is just waiting for something like this to happen. Will I be able to use his 6 speed tranny by getting an adapter? Or will it fit without one? His tranny also has a pretty nice LSD stock. Any other advice anyone has would be great. Ei: electronics, problems I may run into, ect! Thanks.

Dude... not to be mean or anything but...

Thats one of the most obsurd things i have ever heard of.
Unless you plan on spending thousands of dollars in custom fabrication.
I would say thats a big no...

This is almost like asking if you could swap a ford 281 into a camaro.
Its just not feasable nor is it worth the money that it would cost to do it.

I though IRL owners were smarter than this...

No I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to that sort of shit. I'm not a garage junky but I can hold my own when it comes to repairs/fabrication and modification.

Don't be so mean, he's just trying to save what's left of the car that I'm sure he's less than happy about totaling!

You're right though, it's not a good idea, too expensive. I'd look for something that's going be be easier. Newere Cavy or Sunfire, maybe a used Ion sedan or QC... something like that.

lol thanks spoon... your right.. one thing i can say most IRL owners have in common is falling in love with thier car. and i did just that and i have trouble letting go. I've been looking around for the QC... trust me. I've been high and low.. its not easy. im waiting for something a little more compatible but someone might know something I don't ... ummmm isnt that what a forum is for... partially? .. where is the love?

I've thought about the sedan... I know I could get one pretty easily for cheap and put my springs on it.. lol then x-fer the rest of the drive train... hubs ect, rims. wouldn't look bad ... would be a major sleeper. especially because anyone thinking "wow what a fag with redline rims on a sedan" but then they hear that screamin deamon and get whip lash
