GM Parts Direct Supercharger for 2.2L Ion; will it work for 2.4L?

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...umber=17800003

http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.ph...01196&start=25

and some pics of the kit:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUPER...34585013QQrdZ1

Looks like the redline S/C but its made for the 2.2L ions....
Anyone think it will work for the 2.4L as well?

Not sure... does it include a reflash as part of the kit, I assume?

That's a Wop question right there... if the PCM is different, which wouldn't suprise me one way or another, you'd be screwed...

I'd THINK the mounts and most of the hardware would line up, or be pretty close...

Some of those guys with the 2.4L Sunfires on the link you posted seemd to have it, is that a totally different motor than the new 2.4's? I know they didn't have VVT and 174hp, did they?

No, the old j-body 2.4 and the new Ecotec 2.4s are completely different. As far as the kit working, there's no reason it should not bolt-up. The kit does reqire a reflash, and it's only 2.2 specific from what I remember.

I think the PCM part would be the hard part, you KNOW the flashes have to be completly different for a motor without VVT and one with...

no it wont work. Its only for cavys and sunfires because saturn doesnt do a reflash for it. If it did work I would have had it buy now. Sucks that it cant be that easy for us.

Installing the JBody supercharger kit on an ION/Cobalt 2.4 will only become viable once HP Tuners becomes functional for the E67 ECM. I know they are working on it for the Solstice/Sky as well.
It wouldnt be supported by GM of course, but there's no reason why it wouldnt bolt up after solving a few minor fitment issues.
