I looked at the info for this file and it was last updated 11/8/2004. Not sure what else has been done, but these numbers aren't showing the supposed '17hp' gains that K&N is saying we'll get from their setup. these seem to be more normal and believeable from a CAI (5-10hp gains). What does everyone else think? If K&N is going to charge $400 and we can get this for around $200-$250, what will you get?

I think 17 hp, almost 10%, is a ridiculous claim, and 5-10 is very realistic. If they're claiming almost 10%, then K&N's kit on a Mustang Cobra should deliver almost 40 hp - it delivers 21 at WOT with the hood open, 18 with the hood closed - on a 390 hp car.

I'd do the AEM just for the price - no need to spend nearly twice the money.

Next idea - so where the hell is the product??

The AEM is the short ram, not a CAI. Just so ya know...

different cars react differently to similar mods, you CANNOT compare results of an intake from one car to the next...

I'm with you on the gains, it does seem pretty high. True, it's hard to compare one car to another, but 10% is pretty high. I'm still waiting for someone to confirm that the intake even exists, and I need to see a dyno chart before I even THINK about it.

Dude, I wasn't saying that we shold get 40 hp because a Cobra did, I'm saying that a 10% claim on any car is pretty ridiculous, and falls into the "Tornado" and "Turbonator" range of fraudulent claims.

K&N is claiming almost 10% on the Redline. I'm saying it ain't happening. I used an example, to show realistic K&N numbers on another car I had dyno results for, a 2004 Cobra. They showed about 5%.

Somewhere in the series of posts regarding The K&N, someone gave a corrected HP claim of 13, not 17.

They said yes it is a K&N and it will be in our warehouse on the 15th, I asked how much he said $383.00 Full CAI, and a 13hp increase. SOOO I guess there is another "confirmation" . . . I am stoked. Come on AEM and Injen, give K&N some damn competition so they will lower their friggen prices.

13 HP sounds more realistic, price is still to high.
