Converting the intercooler from a 4pass to a 2 pass did nothing

I did the conversion yesterday and the AITs are the same. The water it's self coming out of the intercooler is not very hot, even after 180+ AITs. Its as if the intercooler is not exchanging the heat very well. I am ordering up the pump and checkvalve for the Methanol injection. I will report back the results. I am looking to use 2x .8 jets and will use the E-boost2 to control the Meth injection.

One thing that has me concerned is that there are no air bleeders on the heat exchanger. I am afraid that the core has trapped air in there. It is bad enough that the system only has about a quart of coolant in it.

Is there any chance the intercooler radiator or the laminova's are fouled degrading heat exchanger efficiancy? Will your coolant pump pass the Spooner test?

AIT2 is a derived value calculated using other sensor readings. Would having a turbo upstream of the supercharger have any affect on the results ? Call me old fashioned but I prefer a direct temperature reading.

I wouldn't expect a big change in heat exchanger efficiancy from converting to a 2 pass. There is no change in the actual heat transfer surface area on either side. This is more of a tweek that could gain a small incremental improvement. Anyone looking for a 20-40 degree drop in AIT2 needs to look elsewhere.

ive always been convinced that the intercooler helped very little compared to what it could do, this just helps confirm it

Actually I was considering cutting the feed wire from the MAF based AIT sensor and parrelling it from the intake manifold. This way both feeds are coming from the intake manifold.

Let me make the wiring change tonight and I will report back.

?????????????????????????
IAT2 is a direct input as far as I know.
The thermistor is integral to the Bosch MAP sensor (techncially called a TMAP)
Here's the data sheet for the LSJ sensor (our TMAP is the PN# 0261 230 042)

I believe Anthony has just confirmed what GMPP found and that was altering/improving the flow through the Laminova cores had a negligable effect. I've thought about adding a few GM coolant sensors into the intercooler system and then use HPT EIO to log the temps to assess performance during modifications.

WEll my problem is that it is reading post turbo/pre-intercooler temps thru the MAF. This is throwing off the scaling. I'd rather it read only from the intake manifold. I am going to try and have the MAF's AIT signal wire parallel off of the MAP's AIT wire.

WOP do you have a copy of the ECU pinout that you can post here?

So is it supposed to be normal if we are running 21psi to have IAT2 around 180 during the summer and our Raditor Coolant around 190*?
