hmm what kind of gauge is it. Did it not come with any directions? I wired mine to the fuse box so they light up any time the accessories have power. I used the power window fuse.

Yellow is usually switched power so its only on when the car is on. More than likely, you'll find a yellow wire running to your radio that you can splice into.

on the back of the radio connector you have two rolls of wires A1-A12 and B1-B12. splice into wire B7, it might be B8. this wire controls the lights for the radio. thats what i used. it will come on when your dash lights come on.

I just spliced into the brown wire on the top of the steering column. it was the easiest wire to get to.

its for the dimmer, the gauge when wired properly will dim when headlights are dimmed that what my extra wire was for anyway.

Sup guys, I'm new and posting for my friend that has an '04 RL and no interent connection.

We should be picking up some autometer gauges this weekend (boost, a/f, oil pressure, volt, fuel pressure). So here goes the questions.

1. Where does the boost vacuum hose get hooked to?

2. Where does the oil pressure get hooked to (I'm hoping it will go where the sending unit is, just like on the s series)?

3. Where does the fuel pressure sensor go to (hopefully without fuel line cutting)?

4. What is everyone using to mount their gauges and where?

5. what color is the O2 signal wire?

6. where are all these yellow wires that you guys are talking about?

Sorry for all the questions, and if some of them are dumb its because I haven't had a chance to get a good look around under the hood and don't know much about the car. For the record I have a nice and slow '97 SC1 with full bolt ons + lots of other stuff, so I do know what I'm doing and I'm not new to saturns, just new to this RL.

o2 sensor/ gauge (a/f) is just a fancy light show. Unless you are buying a wideband with a seperate 0-5v sensor you are wasting your time and money. But if you like little colored lights flashing all over go for it.
