snow performance methanol/water

So, with all the "ice boxes" and "heat exchangers" that are being discussed i figured i would introduce the system i have ordered and installed on my car, and two friends who have cobalts cars.

Its a snow performance methanol/water injection system. Using a nozzle jet drilled into the intake, the system sprays a 50/50 mixture into the intake (depending on personal preferrence, you can determine at what psi the system will activate)((it uses an maft to translate voltage and parameters so it will need to be tuned)) which then passes through the supercharger, ino the manifold, effective cooling intake temps, the supercharger, and allowing the engine to run much more efficiently, with more timing, on simple pump gas. The system allows u you to run a 116 octane map, and more timing, on 91 octane gas, as the methanol in the injection system is a very efficient burning gas. The system also eliminate knock, allowing for advances in timing, effectively giving u even greater gains off the system, not just from the intake temperature lowering by about 150*f. This system will also allow you to run more boost, eliminating heat in the supercharger, allowing for a larger range of efficiency.

Anyways, having read up on many of the different systems on the market, for the 450$ US.. this system has the greatest gain potential. One cobalt in the states had his intake temp drop from 313 F to 160 F with the system running and turning on at 9 psi. He also gained 24 whp on a mild tune and a 2.8 inch pulley, so in theory with a smaller pulley already installed u should see a few more hp.

The one thing i was worried about was that cost of the injection fluid. but its super cheap, even in canada, its only 9$ full retail for a gallon on the coolent, which will last u depending on how much u wot, anywhere from 1-3 weeks. Ill post dyno sheets on the 18th of august, once its all completed, with everything installed...and without a doubt im more then confident 300 whp will be obtained.

I met with Matt Snow of Snow Performance this weekend. He's a great guy, with a great product.

Cant wait to see your dyno, seems like the guys in Cali really do need this!

My car has intake temps that are less that 160 as-is... if someone went from 313 to 160, the need to get their intercooler fixed, and test it again...

W/I is fine, but it's somewhat of a band-aid approach to things, a properly designed intercooling system will be superior in the long run.

Everyone that has done the meth injection has lost power without tuning, it slows the flame front speed in the combustion chamber and effectively removes some timing. Without being able to increase timing with HP Tuners, it will only cost you power. This has been dyno proven at least 3 times now.

Walmart brand -20 degree washer fluid is the exact same 50/50 meth/distilled water mix. Hazmat info also verified it.

you have to tune the snow performance kit, it operates off a maft, and the power gains that have been seen in our car are emence. Im not so worried about the intake temps, although on the 2.6 will create alot more heats then ur 2.8
not to mention the timing on the larger injectors.

but anyways, the major advantage is the timing you can add, and the 116 octane capabilities of off 91 octane gas.

i personaly spoke with the owner of snow performance last sat at the local car show, im still waiting back on the email from him but they may be sponsoring my car with a free kit so they can market these systems out to the IRL crowd
