So what are the results like? That's the important question after all.

I didn't want to come off a bashing, and I'm sorry if I did. You did a really nice job. But I can tell you from my own experience of making a CAI on my SC1 that smooth pipe and a good filter make a noticable difference in power and sound (I started with the EXACT same stuff as you).

Did you consider putting a standard cone or spounge filter in a box and connecting the ram air pipe to the box? That way it pulls all its air from outside, rather than having it pull 80% from under the hood. The box won't be a restriction as long as the air pipe is larger than the intake pipe and smooth. But then that's starting to sound too much like stock.....

Definately check out Vibrant. If you can make that intake, you shouldn't have a problem ordering bends and putting them together to make a true cold air. With that said, they aren't cheap by a long shot. Its around $30 for a 3" 90* bend.

Hold on now. There's no proof that this setup is better than stock. Different is not necessarily better. It may be worse.

However, I am excited about the idea and I think it can be made to benefit us all. I'm glad to see people out there trying new things and letting the rest of us see.

Didn't sound like bashing at all. Considered using a sealed box, but I thought it would make water in the pipe more likely to be sucked in. I doubt it's pulling anywhere near 80% air from the motor area when your moving. Cool(outside) air is being forced in @whatever speed you're moving.
The supercharger whine is real loud, and it seems to have much worse traction probs. in 1st . I think this mod will really be noticible at higher speeds, and I haven't had the chance to try that out yet. It def. is breathing easier.

Thanks! I couldn't stand waiting for someone to come out w/mods for this car. I mean, I've had it for almost 2 weeks already!
