Ractive filter cures CELs

I got that Ractive filter in the mail today that ZFactor sent me. So just for shits and giggles, I flashed back to stock and went for a drive w/ both the K&N and the Ractive.

The K&N definitely flows more air. Way more air. LTFTs were hanging out in the +10 - +15 range. MAF frequency was within normal range, but it was a bit jerky.

The Ractive flows almost identical to stock. LTFTs were in the 0 - +3 range. The car was noticably smoother at tip in and partial throttle. MAF frequency was smoother as well. It still whines like a raped cat, but you can also hear the deep tones of the intake. Much better sounding, IMO.

To sum up: Not the best for performance, but if you want the whine w/o having to retune... good stuff.

THATS EXACTLY WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!

Actually, I've just wanted the sound without all the issues that CAIs have been giving people.

Oh, and to clarify, this is a drop in, and not a CAI replacement filter, right?

It's not a drop in. You take the K&N filter off the Typhoon piping, and replace it w/ the Ractive.

This won't cure the pipe separation issue, but it'll stop water ingestion and codes.

Last I heard, ZFactor was going to try to buy a case of them if there was enough interest. The filter itself is out of production.
