3 lights and 3 adjustment knobs.

I'm guessing that each knob can be adjusted to have each light come on at a certain RPM.

Also, the gauge that Signals posted looks to be sitting lower than the original which will make a nicer look IMHO. Not goofy like the first one.

If that is indeed what the final product will look like (and since his dad works at the Saturn factory, I'm assuming it is) I may have to get one of these. The led ladder tach would be a really nice addition too. You could know when to shift without having to look to the far right at the end of every gear.

I'm not saying it looks bad, but you were talking about 'clean' looks. Neither of them is really a clean look, but the stock one is cleaner. That's all!

If not, an aftermarket boost gauge is one of the easiest guages to install. I'm sure the quaife LSD will still fit.

Signals, is your dad allowed to tell you when they actually start production on the Red Lines again, especially ones with the Comp. Package? And aren't you lucky, he gets to take home 'broken' parts that won't get used so that you can use them. Lucky!

What do you mean? I'm sure the parts will fit. They probably mean you cannot take your '04 in and have the comp package installed on it for the same price as buying brand new.

Like I said, I'm sure all of the parts will fit, but the price is gonna dig deep into the wallet.

I've been told several times that the wiring harness is different for the two packages. My guess, is that the wiring harness for the comp package, includes the circuits for the ladder tach, and boost gauge. Is the boost hookup on it electical or mechanical? Same with the wiring harness, it's probably part of the headlight circut in the comp package, that way you can't leave the foglights on it. That's what they told me when I bought mine, about the foglights anyway. They said the regular Ion's have a different wiring harness, and the foglamps need that harness to 'hook right in', they said you could install them, but you would either have to tap into the existing one, or install a seperate circuit and remember to turn off the foglights seperate from the headlights.

It's the same thing as the self-dimming, compass rearview mirror.
