Keep in mind someone (RavenSS) blew something on his engine with just the TVS / bolt-ons, and he was probably over 300.

Personally, I wouldn't think about going over 20 lbs of boost with a blower or anything more than basic bolt-ons without building the engine up.
RavenSS blew because of a failed engine rebuild, not because of the TVS/bolt-ons. And it was a built motor too. So that's a human error in rebuilding the motor. It shouldn't have blown with a mere 300hp or even 400hp

The 300hp marked set by GM is using the Eaton M62 as the primary power adder. There are a few who have broken 300whp with out spray but those tunes would not be considered safe for daily driving.

There are some turbo guys who have broke 400whp and the stock internals and having been driving for several months. But they drive with the expectation of having to build an engine very soon. Most people consider 350whp safe for a turbo.

Well, that explains why his options didn't include busted pistons or rings. What did it end up being?

I can't recall exactly. I believe it was piston/rod related

What internals should I upgrade? Ultimately I plan on getting this kit. Of course that's about a year or 2 off pending finnancial markets not collapsing...

Should I get Stage 2 or remain stock go straight to twincharge? I realize there's a lot of issues with this system so far (or so i've heard) so I'm figuring that in a year or so they will be ironed out.

I planned on for SURE getting a clutch. My stock one is going out on me currently with 29K miles, but I'm still under warranty til 64k miles. I doubt my warranty department will do this, but I'm going to see if they'll allow me to pitch in and get an upgraded clutch (I doubt it though).

There are several way to go about building an engine.

New Pistons, Rods, Rings, ARP Studs and a cosmetic head gasket it you want to spend some money. Double your costs if you want a built and ported head.

Then there is a cheaper way to do it that I am considering. And that is having your engine internals Cryo'd. jimbos'ss from CSS had it done.

Its "supposed" to make the parts twice as strong. He had his entire engine done but you could probably get a way with just doing the pistons, rods and crank. I'm going to look into it more cause I don't plan on driving my car during the winter. So its ok for me to have some down time.

That is really your choice. If you plan on going for a big build then skip over GM Stage 2.

Either find someone in your area experienced in tuning the LSJ and buy the parts yourself or buy the OTT Stage 1 kit and HP Tuners. If you buy both from them they will help you customize their Stage 1 tune to your car. So it like getting a custom tune even if there is no one close to help you. Just make sure to get a wideband.

Warranties do not cover the clutch anyway. The clutch is a normal wear and tear part just like brake pads. I have no recommendations for clutches since I am still on my stocker.

I purchased an extended warranty that does cover my clutch. Especially after a caliper had a leak and they told me it leaked into my trans. (not sure how that was possible, but they said it)
