header and downpipe question

ok so i was talkin to curiousgeorge last night we were talkin about how i was lookin into a header downpipe convo.....he was tellin me that headers sometimes make cars run extremely rich and might eventually turn into a fried piston..........he said if i got header/ downpipe then i would need tuning....is this true? i havent heard of this before so hm

well i dont know about that they allow the exhaust gasses to escape more quickly and smoothly

As with any exhaust tuning, opening up to a more free-er flowing exhaust will make you run richer. Its not dangerous per say, but you can benefit from a tune.
