1. Disconnect the elbow from the throttle body to the air box lid.
2. Remove the connector for the MAF sensor
3. Loosen the 3 screws for the airbox lid and remove it (one is under the radiator hose)
4. Lift up the lid and slide the filter off, then remove them separately.

Getting the filter to slide onto the inlet tube on the airbox lid is a pain in the ass. Honeslty, it may be easier to remove the actual air box out of the car to replace it.

there's some 90* trick to put the filter on, i dont know exactly what it is but after removing the old filter, put the new one in the box, bring down the cover and try to manuever it onto where the filter holds on the cover then squeeze in a screw driver to tighten it then put it back together. maybe thats it...

A K&N wouldn't be hard to do with the box in, as far as a stock filter they're an pain to slide on.

I believe this is sort of how I did mine when I put a K&N drop in filter in my redline. It is definitely easier said than done. tightening the filter to the lid was the difficult part. After all of the frustration and taking breaks, it was a good 2 hour job for me, haha. It sucked.
