Hypertension lose some of the tension and wait for the shift. Costs waaaay less money. Or get out of first real early that s/c has sooooooooo much torque its easy to go fast...the 1-2 ratio split really dictates how fast you can shift unless you want to lose the synchros and buy a box repair...anything else is silly. An exedy lightweight clutch and flywheel is awesome but the ratio split is unchanged...my 2 cents

Question on Extreme temperatures HPT, and NOS (among other things)

This is assuming the plan is to get adjust/fine tune a tune from something like the stage II kit that Mase had/has (60#, 2.8, and tune)

If a person wanted to put in a 50 shot, is it possible to run the same tune year round?

IOW ... I have a stage II upgrade with an on demand/armed NOS system that I can shut off in winter when it hits -30c or -40c that runs that same tune as summer when it can hit 30c+?

I'm pretty sure I read a while back where someone had a NOS system with an arming switch in their car and let the ECU or RPM's determine wether or not to spray which to me would be an ideal system (unarmed nothing happens, armed only at a specific RPM or condition does the NOS spray) ... I'm just not sure if there's a single good tune to account for everything including ambient temp ... it's not like in the winter you'd boost very often but it would be nice to know that whatever you did have for a tune wouldn't destroy your engine in the crappy cold months and STILL be fun as hell in the spring/summer

Anything is possible I guess ... how likely is it that this could be set up though?

^uh... im not Mr. NOS guru. You need to contact a few of the other members here for their advice. RLinbatonrougue is always well versed in NOS. There are also a few other members that are running NOS. Ask around, BUT ill still give your answer a shot.

a 50shot of nitrous is not the biggest baddest shot around. According to a few sources, you should be able to set up a fogger in the intake piping (after the MAF) and get away with a 50 shot untuned.
If you are looking to up teh shot later, you might want to invest in a better Nitrous kit that has all the 'window switches' (what you were talking about w/ ECU and RPM) and built in timing retard for larger shots.

and how about a water injection system? i've been lookin into that since my last 404... just never had the time to put it on. even though they're supposed to be used on turbo'd motors, i dun c y one cant use it in conj. w/ a s/c setup. yes, no, maybe so?

and the best bang for ur $ setup would b...?

also... the stage2 upgrade kit, works on the '04 rl's also? god i hope so.... i dont think there's a mechanical difference btwn the 04'-05' rl's. right?

^uh... i dont think you read ANY of this thread (its only 4 pages!), 'cause all of your questions have been answered already...hence, why its called a FAQ.

my first question is is the engine calibration in the stage 1 kit the same as the stage 2 kit? my second question is is the stock supercharger hub going to work any other pully size. cuz the stage 2 kit comes with a hub? so im confused if i need that hub from the stage 2 kit or not. also i wanted to install the 76mm pully instead of the 78mm pully that comes in the stage 2 kit. which hub do i need for the 76mm pully

1) The stage 1 and 2 calibrations are the same
2) There is no hub on the s/c in stock form. The hub comes in the stage 2 kit
3) Depends on which 76mm pulley you want. Nate makes pulleys that fit the stage 2 hub in various sizes while other company's produce their own hubs.

All hubs are press-fit on, just like the factory pulley.

this was the pully i want to put on instead of the 78mm that the stage 2 kit comes with. do you know where i can get a hub that would fit this one http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...P1749C221.aspx
will the belt off the stage 2 kit work on a 76mm pully?

Yes, the GM Stage 3 pulley will fit the stage 2 belt.

Pulley Sizes

Here is something to review and possibly add. From South Florida Pulley HQ

For Increases in Boost over the Factory (3.50" Outer Diameter) - Actual 3.35" size, the following pulleys sizes are calculated to increase boost levels above stock 12 psi:
- For a 1 to 1.5 lb. Increase in Boost over the Factory 3.35", use the DUB 3.25" SC Pulley System
- For a 2 to 2.5 lb. Increase in Boost over the Factory 3.35", use the DUB 3.10" SC Pulley System
- For a 3 to 3.5 lb. Increase in Boost over the Factory 3.35", use the DUB 3.00" SC Pulley System
- For a 4 to 4.5 lb. Increase in Boost over the Factory 3.35", use the DUB 2.90" SC Pulley System
- For a 5 to 6 lb. Increase in Boost over the Factory 3.35", use the DUB 2.80" SC Pulley System
