Exclamation Exhaust Suggestions, please help

hey guys, im goin to need some help on this one. im lookin to do a cat back exhaust from either magnaflow- part # 16663 or the gm performance exhaust- part #17802111. the gm exhaust is supposed to be for the cobalt ss. does anyone know if it will fit the redline or does it need slight modification? also i need to know which might sound better if u herd either of em and performance wise which would be the better exhaust to go with. thanks

The GM exhaust will fit if you extend the tip from the muffler & modify the hangers a bit. The Magnaflow, being for the ION, is a direct fit.

Go here & you can get the Magnaflow cat-back for 2-3 hundred less than other places. It just says "performance exhaust" but it's the Magnaflow. ebristol and I got it from them recently so we can confirm it's the Magnaflow. Also, the part # matches.

i've never riden behing my car or one w/ a magnaflow but i know the gmpp sounds quite bad ass, though it's only 2.25" piping and needs like a 3-4" extention at the end to come up to the bumper cuz the 'balts are a little shorter.

I have been behind your car and it sounds really good even at WOT. It was what made me decide to use it as the base for my dual exhuast

I have the gmpp exhaust and i love it its a direct fit you just have to get a 2 inch extention for the tip thats it, its really quite when your driving around town but sounds really good at WOT. only video i have with the exhaust is a race hope it helps a little on how it sounds at WOT.

GMPP exhaust sounds awesome, but if you're making more power (than stock)....you might wanna think about getting the Magnaflow 2.5" setup since you can feel less pull in the topend with the GMPP 2.25" system (but you can feel the (more) torque difference)

Check out my thread for pics & info & audio on the GMPP system:
