has anyone considered

fabbing up a smoother flowing intake manifold. i had some ideas about it where the laminova intercooler system could be reused and each cylinder would have its own runner. but i have no access to cad program and wanted to see if any engineering guys might be willing to assist with the design

Omega on lsjforums.com is working on it, but it is going slow. I'm trying to get back on my analysis as well, but, the stock car needs to be ready for Saturday's race first.

Yes, it's a Saturn. No, you can't drive it.

The laminova cores have limitations on how much air they can flow and still be effective. That is the reason they are stacked on top of each other in the Stock IM. Air can flow over all 4 of them at the same time instead of flowing through one and then the next....

If they were setup the way you have them "Painted" that would create even more of a restriction in the manifold.

Im glad to see people thinking out of the box.

Here is the thread Shab is talking about.

To be honest I really don't expect to see much come out of it. He has good ideas but they would be expensive to implement.

Don't worry about it. We need more people like to start dreaming up ideas like this. I was not flaming at all. Just telling you what I have learned.

Port the stock manifold and call it a day.

Thinking way outside the box...please dont flame...

My understanding is that the air passes over these cores to be cooled.....I'm not very well up to speed on our intercooler set-up...so bare with me....

Would a reverse radiator style setup be beneficial?....where the coolant gets cooled by radiator, and heated by radiator...I'm thinking a radiator would be a HUGE restriction for the intake manifold...
jmuffe01...I have some CAD experience, mostly 2D (civil related)...although with the proper dimensions I can draw you anything...pm me if you are interested, I can send you all drawings via PDF
