New Turbo Conversion Kit

Got this from the shortbuss

I wonder if they are going to sell it without the front mount so it could work with our RL?

Stock car vs Same car with turbo kit, Blue is HP RED is Torque

I wonder how much more power it could make if they didn't use the stock manifold? I know they kept with the stock one to keep costs down, but still if your going to spend a ton of money to go turbo. Wouldn't you pay extra for a good intake manifold?

I really would love to know where this "the stock intake manifold is garbage" rumor came from.

It's really just gone overboard and is just outright retarded.

I never said it was 'garbage', it's obvious though that the hahn or gmpp maifold would do a better job at moving the air than our stock one.

I was just saying if you'r going to spend a ridiculous amount of money for a turbo kit why not just go balls out for the most power the car can make?

Me personally I'm keeping with the stock manifold just because I'll eventually go with a polished TVS. But i'm at least going to have it ported if lsjwannabe or ebristol ever get some dyno results to see if it's worth it.

it's the garrett kit with a modded up pipe and the adapter is from atp turbo. all they did is moved the mas from the intake tube to the up pipe and extend the intercooler mounts to clear.

For this app wouldn't it be garbage? unless it was unhooked and the aftercooler system drained and the pump disconnected (why put heat back into the air charge?) but then the whole thing would be over engineered for its purpose and i'm sure there are na or turbo intakes that would be way better flowing and than the stock intake manifold for a turbo application, and another reason for changing intakes for turbo application (as if you needed another) would be to loose the extra weight of the intake manifold and the pump i dont think the heat exchanger could be removed without some fab work but its doable.
