Ok I guess I could just PM the 6 guys I want responses from but I figure I'll make a thread about it to discuss anyway.
Ok.
GM says the LSJ rods are good to 400hp. What does everyone really think they're good till. Keep in mind here that the LNF rods are EXACTLY the same, cept for the fact that they are made out of 1019 steel while the LSJ's are made of 5115 steel. Also, is 400hp whp or bhp?

Im interested in this myself. I havent found any except for the JBP ones. The Ecotec hand book says not to use them at greater than 300hp. Is that conservative? I would like to do rods with the build Im about to do. I wish Eagle or Manley would come out with some. My ultimate goal is about 430hp. Im thinking twinscrew plus nitrous, (and internals) should get me there. I hate nitrous but I dont wanna go turbo.

rice eater should know. and if they're the same as LNF, then the thread that was just started about the limits of the LNF where a guy threw 21psi and 200shot of N2O at it (or something crazy like that) would also yield an answer.

The TVS should be enough for you me thinks...

You mean a 300shot and 24psi? But like I said, I don't know the specifics of metals and if you read they are made of 2 different alloys but the dimensions are the same.
That helps, and I hope that should be enough. Im thinking of going 10.0-10.5 compression. I need to be able to pull on a C6 LS3 6-speed Vette. My mom has one and Im sick of her giving me shit that shes faster than me now. She laughed at me when I told her the Redline will soon be faster than her. Just adding more fuel (and debt) to my fire!
rods will be fine in anything we plan on building IMO..i'll be hitting close to 375 after my build is complete here anyday now..the nhra drag balt didnt switch them out til after 500hp..

just go 10.1:1 and get ur head work done..that will put u at a pretty high compression ratio..350 and some traction mods and u should be all over the c6
dunno been making @400 crank for a while now and they seem to be doing fine, even the stock pistons, well stock everything in the motor and drivetrain minus the axles.
Once you ditch the poopercharger these motors are very knock resistant and make some real power. I run more boost and timing then I ever did with the s/c on just straight pump gas.
22.34 psi, 21 degrees of timing, 11.8-12.2 afr (need richer but injectors are maxed) 0 KR all day everyday on 93octane (meth injection still isn't hooked up)

Yea Im not "smart" enough to do all the fabbing for the piping to go to a turbo setup. Plus I dont have tooling to do it. Id rather have something I could do myself cause I have trust issues with other people and my car. Id rather just do everything myself. That and all the twinscrews ive heard whine at an idle. And thats ok with me!!! I wouldnt even mind going to twincharged if someone comes out with a kit or something that works good. I really like superchargers so I want to keep it that way.
