I just meant that changing to a different rod length wouldn't increase stroke, it would just move the entire assembly further up the bore. The distance the piston travels would still be the same.

As far as any custom crank work, I couldn't comment on that. Never tried any crank welding.

I just reread your post again...your first post I thought you just meant changing rod journal size to accept a longer rod. I'm guessing you meant to weld up onto the journals and use a shorter rod.

Edit again: Now I'm really confused cause you did say longer rod. lol

We'd still have the 6 bolt to 8 bolt issue, though.

you might just be better off getting a custom crank made, or possibly getting a stock one redone instead of trying to use a stock swap

thats not a issue? I got that covered.

to the other poster having a crank custom made would probably cost as much as I have in my whole motor. its an option but an expensive one.

Just a few things I've been meaning to bring up in a similiar nature.

If Direct Injection is up to 30% more efficient, and the 2.0L Turbo in the 9-3 is not Direct Injection and makes 210 horsepower, what else is different between it and the LNF? It seems to me that the saab engine would basically be the same as the LSJ longblock.

I had not heard that GM racing had a LSJ specific ported head available; part #XGH734.

I don't remember which head that is but I do know if you email them they can provide you with one of those exhaust side ported heads they used in the lsj build book for a little over a grand iirc.

The modifications they did on the 300hp lsj build head were exhaust side only. WSFrazier emailed them about something a while back and they just out of the blue tried to sell him one iirc.

I wonder why they nly did the exhaust side when thees flow to be had on both sides. Who did WS make contact with? number, email?

I know the one dave does will typically see 4% more flow on the exhaust side and 10% on the intake side. maby its the other way around but I dont think so since i believe the intake valves are bigger then the exhaust valves.
