With all this TVS talk...

The real question is, who's going to be the first to pull a LNF from an 09 cobalt and put it in the ion?

I went to the ohio cobalt meet and they had one there and one of the guys from GM performance was there giving a presentation. It was interesting to see what they changed off of our LSJ that would resolve some of our issue. One big change that stood out in my mine... an engine driven variable pressure fuel pump. hmmmm....

also, why does their idiot shifting technology sound like a really fucking terrible idea.

I highly doubt any will put an LNF into an Ion as that requires a header change, possibly new mounts fabed, a hole change of the fule system and probibily more that I am not 100% aware of right now.

it won't be me, i promise... if i'm going through the trouble of an engine swap on this car, I'm gonna drop a ls1 or ls2 into it and go RWD conversion. Tibbs and i have been joking about that for over a year now.

i've always thought of putting a secong lsj and tranny in the trunk and making another firewall behind the rear seats. build both motors with the same mods to equivalent horsepower (with the tvs of course) and bam, you have a helluva 600+ hp awd sleeper with the option to turn off one of the engines for better gas mileage

i think they did it once to a tiburon, of all things. ran a 10 sec 1/4 with no prob

Yes, it's a Saturn. No, you can't drive it.

Two 300 horse engines DOES NOT equal one 600 horse engine. I know exactly what car you're talking about, and honestly, it was a stupid idea that a crazy SOB did for kicks. He was running automatic transmissions for simplification, it would be very hard to get both manuals working with the same shifter.

The fuel system really wouldn't need much change. It's a standard fuel pump up to just before the head as the high pressure pump is on the head(think diesel injection). The part that would make it rediculously difficult would be the electronics...

that's exactly what it would be, just for kicks.

I'm never going to do this, obviously. only if i had some time and a shitload of money and nothing better to do with it

you gotta admit, though, it is tempting...

NO, Mounting the drivetrain in the rear is tempting, but not leaving one in the front. lol. I've considered making mid-engine cars out of quite a few different vehicles, but, it's just too much work.
