ATTN:anybody that has had a dealership blame maf problems on K&N intake

stumbled across this today... thought it was pretty interesting considering i have seen many posts where peoples dealership has blamed thier K&N intake for problems with the MAF sensor.

interesting reading. Good find. The failed mafs I have seen were covered in so much oil the K&N was dripping with it...i dont know that K&N looked at that. I use K&N 100% of the time, in all cars. My redline K&N is in a stock Redline can, works great....

I'm bookmarking that!

I have a K&N and haven't had issues. But I waited for a long time because so many had!

Agreed, good stuff. Now we have something to throw back at them when they push us out the door and refuse to warranty the work.

My car kept going into limp mode about 6 months after I put on my K&N. I replaced my MAF and havent had any problema since. I use an AEM filter now too.

Failed MAF at 25k miles. STOCK FILTER. Dealership said the filter was so dirty it must not have been changed ever, lol. They're full of shit - it was less than 7k old. Why do I mention this?

1 - so you know that without a K&N, it still happens and they still make excuses.

2 - becuase I mentioned getting teh K&N and they pre-screwed me, saying that they caused MAF failures that wouldn't be covered.

I asked them if that was anything like THIS MAF failure, and if the stock filter obviously wasn't up to par, who were they to say the K&N was the cause? That and much more arguing about other shit later, they still had no answers.
