The turbos u listed in your post are all in the same basic power range, some of the differences are:
GT3076R, compr wheel size 57mm inducer, 76.2 exducer, flowing around 52lbs/min, brand garret, ball bearing, and usally in an To4S compr. cover
S256, compr wheel size 55mm inducer, 80mm exducer, flowing 55lbs/min+ brand bullseye/borgwaner, non BB, and also in a T04S compr. cover
HiFi 60-1, compr wheel size 59mm inducer, 76mm exducer, flowing around 53lbs/min, comes BB or standard bearing style, brand turbonetics. The HiFi stuff comes in the smaller compr. cover T04B
The GT30 in the GT3076R turbo means the frame size of the turbo and the exhaust wheel size, GT30 exhaust wheel. The 76 is the compr. exducer size or the back side of the compr. wheel.
The S256 has borgwarners own style exhaust wheel, but is in the same size range as a P-trim exhaust
The HiFi also has a P-trim style exhaust although other sizes are avail.
Turbine housings are T3 and come with many different A/R ratios available
T3 meaning T3 exhaust side and T4 meaning compr. cover style
These turbos are a hybrid style turbo
The boost cut off points are all relative to the engine size and efficiency, and the back pressures in the turbine housing.

Haha damn rdg, i didn't know class was in session. For all who can't tell this guy seriously knows what he is talking about when it comes to turbos, I'm sure he can answer any question that anyone has.. (non sarcastic)
The guy I sold it to thought it might be a little too big. He would not get full boost until almost 4k. But when it hit full boost it pulled like a monster!
The turbo that most CSS guys are looking at is the GT3071R or the GT2871R/GT2876R.

hmm all very interesting discussions. and yes looking at going turbo due to the power per dollar ratio haha. All of these turbo's have shown 400+whp and I wanted to compare mainly spool up time. All so I still have yet to see why one should choose one over the other.

Spool time depends on your cams, tune, amount of boost you plan on running, exhaust you have. That question is kind of hard to answer. All of these turbos should make 25psi no later than 4500rpms, I am basing this off a 2.0L. That might sound laggy but that is worse case. Some people want a turbo that spools fast, say around 2700-3100, but you are going to give up a lot of top end. Any of the turbos you asked about will spool just fine and still maintain high boost through out the entire RPM band.
Advantages:
GT30, light turbo, fairly compact package, good spool time
S256, outflows all the turbos listed, oe reliability, good spool time, rebuildable, sustains higher boost levels safely, and doesn't require water,(some may say that is a adv or disadv) If the turbo cools properly I see no reason for water. New technology with the extended tip compressor wheel, has a better compressor map than all the turbos listed, and a good warranty
HiFi 60-1, light turbo, compact package, many options available.
Disadvantages:
GT30, nonrebuildable, requires water in centersection, and old school technology, even though most people seem to think it's new. Expensive
S256, weighs a few pounds more than the rest of the turbos. I would take that over the power gains.
HiFi, bad customer service, old school, and cover is to small for the compressor wheel in my opinion. Expensive
Anyone thought of the rear mount turbo setup? My buddy works at a shop that has a mustang come in with one of these setups. They don't have one specifically with our car, but they do have a universal setup as well.
