GMHTP article on Ion turbo kit

The new GM High Tech Performance magazine ran an article where they did an install of saturn motorsports turbo kit. I cant believe they wasted pages with this article. They should have done something on how to improve the LSJ engine which still puts out 50 more hp then the turbo 2.2 they dyno'd. They claim that a lot of people will be adding this kit to Cobalt's and Ion's.

The only good part of this article is the info they gave on how to get, what it does and where to get software to into the ECM and its cheap. Its basically a piggy back kit called the EMC Tuner made by Perfect Power USA. I dont know for sure what it can and cant do but its a start. Its a complete kit with software and cables, you just add laptop the lap top for 400.00. www.IdaAdtomotice.com

Only problem, is the regular Ions have a different ECU setup... I dont know how different, but I know they use the CAN bus for the Ion QC & Sedan

They claim that it works on all GM motors. If i get this right all the box does is intrepret the data into a graph or table and allow you to manipulate it. I dont know where the data is stored, either in the unit or you modify the ECM program. This could be similar to those plug in's from hypertech that had info stored in them.

The Interceptor works on all GM motors too. Mine was on for 18 hours and then went nuts... I know, I know, it's different....
