HP Tuners Support

"Hi guys, time for an update on the 4cyl support.

I have just completed testing of reading/writing both older style large VPW PCM's and also the newer small style VPW PCM's. I believe this covers everything 2.2L and 2.4L from 97 to 04 (and maybe 05). Read time is ~2mins and calibration write is ~30secs.

Please note, this does not mean we will be supporting every vehicle from 97-05.

Ok so it's time to make some decisions on what vehicles will be supported first. Now is the time vote with your VIN#.

What i need is everyone who is interested or has friends who are interested to EMAIL me their VIN# (and their buddies). This is the method we will use to decide the first supported vehicles and years. The vehicles with the highest number of votes will be supported first. Votes will be counted in about 2 weeks so please email me (chris@hptuners.com) right away.

As you can probably imagine, there is a HUGE amount of calibrations out there for 4 cyl vehicles and we simply cannot support everything.

Also, as far as software support goes the 4cyl will not be supported in 1.x, it will only be supported in 2.x and later.

Thanks for your patience guys, i know it has been a long road but just one more turn and we are on the home stretch.

Cheers,

Chris... "

- lets give them an overload! if we got them going on our cars, that would be great. the cobalt forums already got going, so lets back 'em up on this that we want the LSJ to be first and foremost on their development list.

Right on, where did this come from? Email? I have to get my VIN. Anyone have any issues emailing them a VIN number?

I not sure I want to just email my vin to somebody on the web. But I'm a lemming, I will follow if everybody else does it.

it was in a thread on the cobalt forums. it's not like they can do much with your vin. i would also not worry about a product manufacturer to do anything with it, especially since it's an esablished company.

they want the vin because it identifies the engine, and we're voting for the LSJ so we want them to know we mean business...

i'll be doing this tonight after work.

You're VIN is always exposed to anybody who would like to see it....wherever you go, wherever you park, people can walk up to your windshield and write it down. The worst they can do is put it on their car if they steal a car and don't want the original VIN on that. You can't get in trouble for that...
