does anyone know if the reg ion shifter and the redline shifter are the same??

i have a company that makes a specific short throw for the ion qc 03-05 and it is really nice and a hellof a lot cheaper than the b&m but no shift knob but i dont like the b&m one anyway?? anyone know if this will fit the redline as well the company was not sure and i hate to order one up for nothing cause they have a no-return policy unless its defective. let me know im gonna do some research also and if it does fit we'll have a new short throw on our hands and its a really nice piece.
i figure not because they use different tranny's but you never know
