Easy way to twin-charge....

Anyone ever see or hear of these guys....

http://ststurbo.com

Watching there video it looks like we could just replace the muffler with a turbo like they do and run the exhaust all the way back to the intake. That is all they do. Would this work??? If thats how all turbos work I could just pick one up from a junk yard get it re-built and run an oil line to it and run the other side all the way back to the intake.

I really don't understand turbo's much but would this work and be really easy to install. Heck it could be done for under $600 then. But how would boost be controlled?

the sts turbo is a lot mor complex than it looks. They have there turbos custom made to utilize being a remote mounted turbo. They also use a pump to return the oil to the oil pan. I personally think it would be alot more work to custom make a similar setup than to custom make a traditional setup.

Holy Shit! All the blood just left one head for another! Man, how sweet would that thing be? Could you imagine the whine from the S/C in the front and whine from the turbo in the back? OMG!

well I believe they tap into the oil cap actually, it still remains that the oil needs to be pumped there.

They had an article on them about a year or so ago in Turbo magazine. The only thing that bothered me about the set-up was the location of the intake. It seems like it was almost right behind the rear tire. Could you imagine driving in the rain? Talk about sucking in water.

I'm not sure how low a CAI sits in our cars but that seems like it would bring in alot of water. The pictures are from an install on a camaro/TransAm.

The guys and gals who have these on there lt1's and ls1's do put out some good numbers btw. I just think it would be more difficult to make a similar kit for the redline than a traditional turbo setup.
