Any differences in the 05 and 04 performance wise???

I mean the non competition package ones.

Reason I ask is here:
I'm pissed!!! Stock 05 RL vs. Me

Can someone explain this?

Some cars are just faster than others. I've pulled between gear changes on a couple of other RLs (one modded) and a Cobalt SS. I say between gear changes because it wasn't the launch or the shifts that gave me the win and I'm 6'4" 260 so I know it wasn't the weight. There are factory freaks out there and I think I have the keys to one of them.

EDIT: I have a 2004.

Um there are no competition packages for the 05; that's a 06 option. There is no performance difference between the 04 and 05; the 04 was a 04.5 model (ie it was released late in 2004 as a mid year model, at least to my knowledge). The 05 has slightly different fascia and factory spoilers.

I don't want everyone to argue about what year the comp package started. I wanna know why I lost to a stock RL.

From the 05s I've been in, they seem a little quicker than the 04s. Maybe becuase of the updated ECM on the 05, but if you have it on the 04 it should be the same.

It's becuase you're a domestic ricer. JP

maybe he had higher octane gas than you.

maybe your air cleaner is filthy dirty and plugged.

maybe your car was loaded down with more weight
(i.e. you are humongous! or you had the trunk full of bodies again, etc...)

Also, if you have a CAI, CAI are only good at speed when you got lot of COLD AIR. Else, it's harder for the engine to pull the air, the air become hot, so it's worse that the OEM BOX! This is not happening with short ram! - Dyno test with CAI and Short Ram with LOT OF FAN!

I have a short ram.

I'm guessing it has to do with the ECM at this point. I didn't think I would have any problems with a stock RL given my mods.
