What are your guesses for stage 1 & stage 2?

So... What are your guesses for stage 1 & 2?

Stage 1 =? quoted as being "significant" increase in power.
Stage 2 =? quoted as being "a more than significant" increase in power.
GM corporate has a hush on details until SEMA show in November. Prices and HP levels will be released then. They were going to release the news this week, but they backed off until SEMA.

I got a smile and a "no comment" on the $$ and HP guessing game. Based on what he did tell me as far as components go, and body language on questions, I am definitely holding off for the GM performance stages and not buying anything aftermarket at this time. Tidbit #1: he winced at the mention of a piggyback ECU on our car, not a good idea, he said. Take it for what it is worth. This fellow is the head engineer in charge of the LSJ/Cobalt time attack/SCCA cars and is in on the development of our GM parts to be coming soon. His quote was "this market is really going to explode very soon" The guy that set up the display and pointed out the engineer dude said the same thing minutes earlier. hint #2: did I say axels are going to be beefed up and available? Did I mention the the Blue Red Line was wired with Nitrous? I'd tell more, but I'm having too much fun. Did I mention that the Cobalt/SCADAPack cars use a stock exhaust manifold with a full 3" exhaust to the bumper? That tells me what exhaust system I'm putting on my car!!!!

More later, I'm off to bed and back at the track @ 8 am.off to HIN in CLeveland for 7pm to midnight and then back to the track for 8:30 am Sun morning to 6:30 pm. I'll update some more Sunday sometime after 9:30 pm. My best advise is this: Start saving now and ask for money for Christmas, save all that money for the January "after Christmas sale". Did I say January?

My bad.

Finally, a reason to live. I can't wait till this stuff comes out. I hope you told those guys about the site. Maybe we can get them on here to guide us. I knew my virgin-ricer sacrifice would appease the GM Performance gods.

Engine parts will interchange between the two of them. Most suspension parts will too. THe time attack cobalt at the display has G6 knuckles and Grand AM 5x112 hubs on it. Hows that for GM parts interchangabitity??

must be a 5 photo limit. here's the pic of the nitrous button on the steering wheel. HA HA HA, now THAT'S REAL Cruise Control!!!!!!!!

I am at my upload limit here. I will have to find a place to host the images, and yes, I have some really hi res picss, especially one of the engine bay of the race ss/sc cobalt.

I'll try to find a place Sunday evening to post them.

At least we know there is some foreward progress from GM and approx when things might become available. Definately good info to know. If you see them again ask them about the whole springs issue (the interchangablilty between the rl and cobalt ss, etc.) I know there was some confusion recently, and would be nice to know.

This is the best news I've heard since I bought this car. Unless someone else can figure out the ECU, GM just got themselves a monopoly.
