I am summoning my hidden Darkmanx here but why not just get another LSJ stock short block and add your ported head?

You can probably find a complete short block for less then what you will spend on pistons. The LSJ has proven to hold the power you are looking for completely stock. Get a short block and a better tune and call it a day.

Well I really don't want stock. I was pushing 23 or 24 psi & the stock motor isn't made to deal w/ that much boost for long. That's probably what helped cause this failure. The rings in cyls 1 & 4 failed. Sure I can go stock & maybe be good, but that's no fun. Everybody else gets a build thread, why not me? Nobody told Alan to just go buy a stock short block & be done with it.lol
I just want a good, strong, reliable motor. Built to last. My buddy's willing to help do everything. Why not put the good stuff in for a little more money.
