Here's a question ladies and gents: if you're running a 3" exhaust and split it into (2) 2.5" mufflers, will the flow of the 3" still be reduced to a 2.5" or will it remain the same because its essentially flowing into 2 different mufflers which both add up to a greater diameter?

The cross sectional area of a single 3" pipe (assuming 3" ID) is 7.1 sq in. A single 2.5 " pipe (again 2.5" ID) is 4.8 sq in. Two 2.5" pipes is 9.8 sq in. So I would expect two 2.5" pipes and mufflers to flow better.
