weapon-r intake installed

took me 5 hours, and a lot of cuts/bruises. It was definitly worth the hassle i love the sound! but i would rather install headers on my old lt1 camaro then put a freaking intake on a redline.

No friking way man . I put BBK mid lenghts on my 97 SS and that was a nightmare! Getting the stock manifolds out was a pita but atleast getting the headers back in was easier.

Intakes on these cars are fairly easy. I just took and cut the air box in 2 pieces, right down the center and it came out.

No kidding, just changing your airfilter would be a pain. The intstructions for the aem intake said I would have to remove the Throttle body and radiator hose just to get to it I managed to install it without doing that, but it was a tight fit.

BTW, how about that stock filter? Mine was a piece of crap. The folds were very uneven with ten cramed up on each other, and then one or two spread way out. Its huge, though, and I'm sure it flows great. The only thing I was going after with an intake was the sound of the s/c whhhheeeeeeeeeeeeen...

That's a long time. You should charge for labor. SCDyne header didn't even take that long. Including allowing the engine to cool.

Ok don't flame me for hijacking your thread ;-)

Why did you guys go for Weapon-R over K&N or AEM?
I'm trying to figure out which of the 3 to go with (sometimes I wish I only had one choice).

I'm playing around with the Weapon-R right now..if I decide later I want the K&N..I'll get the K&N, but for now the R is satisfactory...also none of the other intakes were in stock when I bought mine, though with the hell I had to go through to get it..I could've just waited for them to restock.

I got my K&N off of ebay (from Gravana of all places). Took me about 4 hours but some of that was because I was looking for a wrench that didn't get put back in the tool box.
