OE Solid filled motor mounts

I'm currently in the process of engineering a nice solid version of the OE mounts. If anyone is interested in possibly picking up any of these please let me know. Right now I've noticed that the rear mount is the most common mount to break. My best friend has a 2004 Ion Redline and that mount's shattered on him once and now it bangs really hard when he shifts. We're drag racing buddies and dont like to mess around. Our motto: "Do it once and do it right." I will have the first mount completed on tuesday and hopefully installed by then. If someone is interested in this mount or any of the others please let me know at sscavypower@aol.com. I will be selling the rear tranny mount all set ready to be installed with no modifications needed. It's a direct replacement for your stock mount. Send me an email with any questions, concerns, or pricing information.

Thanks Mike

I've been doing this a while now for friendson here and other boards. The mounts are the same on the base Ions as well.

Here's the ticket and it is cheap. I posted this back in the early summer, but it warrants reposting again. Here are 2 photos of solid mounts for the ION Red Line. The first one is the stock mount with a red poly urathane insert that I machined at work and it's similar to the one sold by Prothane except their's has 6 holes drilled in it. It is listed for a sunfire/Cavy, but it will work in our housing - priced around $20 each. THe second photo is just as good, but easier for anyone to do that cannot machine stuff. Go get a $12 tube of urethane windshield adhesive and load up the cavities with the stuff and it becomes a solid, but flexible mount.(must let sit and cure 24 hours before using)

There is a certain amount of vibration while idling and when you first start up the car, but while running down the road, I do not notice the difference between solid or factory mounts. The difference comes in how much wheel hop is eliminated. I would say that 95% of my wheel hop was eliminated on the street just with the mounts. The GG brace did not make any difference on the blacktop roads, but did stop some of the wheel hop I had at the track, even with the solid mounts. Bottom line was 2 solid mounts and the GG brace almost totally eliminated my wheel hop issues.

there you go Blu, the stuff I use is a bit more dense than window weld but not too much as to become brittle.
