Just bought a muffler, do I keep my res?

Hey, I just ordered a Flowmaster 40 Series Delta (2.5 in Offset in, Center out) today. I am probably going to get it installed monday or tuesday. But I just wanted someone else to tell me to cut off the resonator. The only thing I am afraid of is highway drone. I don't care if it sets of alarms when I am pushing it, but I go on a lot of road trips, and I want to keep my sanity in 5th gear.

So that being said, should I keep the resonator or chop it?

If sound overkill is a concern I would leave the resenator on the car. The 40 Series is going to be a tad loud with out it.

I have a magna flow generic whatever muffler and a magnaflow highflow resonator. I had it without a resonator for a week and had to change it because it was so bad. If you like your hearing get a highflow resonator or keep the stock one. My highflow is not loud at all until like 4k then its bad ass. Without the resonator i couldnt even hear the s/c and i have a k&n.

I would say keep it. I have the Magnaflow catback on mine, and it comes with a resonator in the system. It would probably be pretty loud and pop even more on decel without it.

Keep the resinator. You need a resinator, a large resinator.

Do you want to sound like farty bumble bees? If not, leave the resonator alone.

Why a flowmaster?

ya man, i got nearly the same muffler from magnaflow and 2.5 as well.....i tok off the resonator and it is LOAD AS HELL.....i would keep it on for 2 reasons. 1, the highway drone, and 2, the ricey pitch at high rpm's

Load as hell, eh?

No resonator = raspy. I didn't notice a volume difference.
