Performance tires that won't cost me an arm and a leg...

and still "perfrom". My tires are on their last legs right now and I have not been the most sound guy financially lately, plus Xmas is coming.

Anyhow, I need some decent performance tire that won't break the bank.

BTW-I'm still sportin' stock rims so........

Tirerack.com and tres.com have some tires for like $86 a piece or something like that but then they need shipped mounted and balanced. I think tires.com still has free shipping though.

I'm pretty sure these are the tires I am going to get next spring, http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...d=008907&ar=45

They cost $114 each, not to bad and they are cheaper than the stock rubber

For sizes 225/45/17 on tirerack.com

BFGoodrich g-Force Sport goes for $95 a piece.
My gf has these. Excellent dry grip as good as the KDW2, wet is somewhat iffy. Just drive slower in wet conditions. Kind of noisy when braking.

BFGoodrich KDW2 for $125 each. EXCELLENT TIRE, highly recommended, they are just loud and wear down fast. But oh boy are they fun...

Avon Tech M500 for $105 a piece. Ask pclear for his opinion, he has these.

Dunlop SP Sport FM901 for $94 a piece. Use to be a popular autocross tire 6-7 years ago. Grip is average but price is good.

Fuzion ZRi for $95. I heard these are okay..

General Exclaim UHP for $73. Don't know how good these are but I heard you can drive these in light snow and they are a " high performance" tire.

Yokohama AVS ES100 for $113 a piece. These were my favorite tire for a long time on my 240sx. I have seen these tires in action with a FWD torquey car and tons of hop and traction issue on launches.

The kdw2 are great -

These might have lasted 6 months... with 5 autocrosses on them

But it was fun.. now they spin real easy...

theres:
Dunlop SP Sport FM901 for $87
Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 for $84
Sumitomo HTR Z II for $79
Kumho ECSTA ASX for $ 87

and a couple of ,ore for under $100 a piece. I'm probably going to go with one of the Kumho's. I really like their tires and have never had a problem with them.

I thought the Ecsta 712's were nice until I tried the HTRZ-IIs. I'll never use the 712s again. Kumho MXs aren't bad, but they can wear out fast, and aren't exactly "cheap".

I think pepboys has some 4-100 bucks ha ha ha ha. Ok nm

What ever happened to the Falken ZIEX tires that we were talking about on here? I thought they made some for our vehicle that were relatively cheap and well rated? Anyone know?
