i've been waiting to hear about this, as well as if it'll start throwing "rich" codes...

I have the K&N, and had some problems with cold starts, until I brought my car to the dealer the other weekend and got the reflash for the 04's. Now it doesn't do that crazy thing where you start it, it almost dies, then revs way high for a couple cycles.

By "choking itself out", do you mean it actually kills the engine?

It has only dropped down to about 30 here. I have had no problems in the morning starting mine. Since I put the catback and the CAI on it, the car has been getting better mileage, and the inside of the exhaust tip does not turn black nearly as fast as it did before.

I just took my car in for the cold start issue too. He said it was throwing rich codes also. All they did was reprogrammed the pcm and replaces the spark plugs and now it runs great.

I was throwing "rich" codes in the middle of Florida summer with the K&N after the first couple weeks, but then it stopped. Wish I could comment on "cold" start things, but cold here is in the 50's.

no issues here, been down to -20 celcius or so, and unlike xerostate no issues starting here. it did seem a little unhappy at first, where it would crank up, run ... start to drop rpms a tiny bit ... then pick up, and rev at 1200-1300 (which is a normal "warm up" mode for most cars...) the drop slightly concerned me only one day, where it seemed as if it could possibly stall, but it did not, and hasnt been close to stalling other days, sure it isnt the happiest, but it isnt having troubles starting, and doesnt feel like its going to shake apart. i'm just going to ignore it, as long as it runs when i ask.
