Also, have you ever put on a 3.0? The tensioner doesn't even need to be pressed all the way down to slip on the belt. We are lucky that our tensioner has as much play as it does. The stock size is a 3.4 or 3.5 if I remember. Half an inch is a good bit of travel and the belt still be secure. Any more and you are going to start pushing your luck.

I think the stock size is 3.35", but I agree never the less...

I thought you needed engine management for anything smaller than 3.0"

We have a running debate about that in a sticky called "electronics for the redline"

The moral of the story is that, the car will run and run ok without any sort of A/F tuning. But, that being said, it is getting a little lean up top. So, yes you could do a 2.9, 2.8, etc, but you are not in an efficient or healthy operating range. It isn't going to blow up on you, but it WILL get a little knocky up top.

But, even for the 3.0, you have to get the colder plugs BR7E's If i remember correctly, just look in my sig.

You could, if they made one... that's part of the issue.

Just so everyone knows, I've been running my 2.9 pulley with larger idler pulley and it doesn't slip and runs great. I run around 17psi steadily at the moment. Very low knock at high rpms. I've recorded 1.8 max.. So I think its good to go. The power is great. I need to find a damn dyno around here and see what I'm pushing...

THe stage 2 pulley is 77.9 mm or 3.066. The 300hp ectotc build book recomends a 73mm or 2.87 pulley.. SO I could go to a 2.9 and see---How much hp/tq gain?? 10/10 maybe??

Hp and torque gains will depends on the tune and if you have enough fuel and ideal timing advance.

I'm gonna go ahead and ask a question that has been answered 1000 times. I'm gonna ask it again, because I don't see how it's possible. Perhaps my lack of supercharger knowledge is at fault here, but here goes...

Changing pully sizes can be done at the dealer and doesn't void the warranty??!

Depends how cool the dealer is. But you can always argue the fact that the stage 2 kit consists of a pulley. Or you can just go to a performance shop, or rent a puller tool.
