Alternatives to the pulley tensioner bracket with a 2.8 SC pulley?

I just lost my job last night. This will make four jobs I've gone through this year. Aircraft maintenance is a rough industry right now.

Any how, I have a 2.8 pulley just sitting in my garage waiting to be put on. Unfortunately, I can't afford the 100 bucks that the zzperformance adjustable tensioner puley bracket is going to cost right now.

So I'm wondering what other "cheaper" options we may have. For instance, can I get a bigger tensioner pulley or idler pulley that will fit our cars for less money? What about a smaller belt? Do they even make a smaller belt that will fit? I don't think they do yet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone has one of the ASP pullers they could loan or rent to me I'd highly appreciate it. It sucks having an upgrade for my engine just sitting there collecting dust.

Also, I've already purchased the colder NGK plugs from SFPH so all I need is something to take up the belt slack and a puller.

This sucks.

You can get the pulley out of a cts and it will go in place of the idler pulley and its the perfect size for a 2.8 pulley, thats what I'm doing

Well, I just called the nearest Cadillac dealer. For an '03 to '04 CTS tensioner pulley it's gonna cost me 75 bucks. Shit, I might as well buy the adjustable one for our car for that price.

What about a larger idler pulley? Where could I get one and how much?

Billetflow sells excellent idlers that I use on my cobra, they have both 90mm and 100mm. Individual pulleys go for only $54.95, cheaper than an STS pulley, plus better looking.

Also, I think you could probably just go to a local autostore and find a Gates belt that would work with the smaller pulley. Should be less than $40. Napa auto parts was able to special order me a belt, arrived in 2 days.

As far as the belt you would think so but NO!! It's double sided and NOT available in other sizes yet, but hopefully soon. Pulley boys is already making a idler pulley but its not on thier web site yet.
