Tuning.

hey guys, i've been communicating with carputing (orig designers of ls1 edit) they might be interested in tuning for us. here are my emails. to be hones i have no clue what an 'hw id' is but if someone could figure it out (WoP?) they might beable to do somethign for us!

Hi Stephen,
I think the 04/05's use an older ECM that we have not worked on. If you have access to an 06, and can get the HW ID off the ECM, we could see if it is one we have worked on.

Hey, The models everyone is interested in is the 04-06 and if im not mistaken 05 and o6 use the same ecu. but my vin for an 05 saturn ion red line is 1g8ay12p15z173147. not sure what the engine codes are in that.

if you want i can try to complile some vins from the redline forums and see what people think.

Thanks again.

Hi Stephen,
Yes I remember your email. We have made great progress on the new GM ECM's. Can you tell me a couple of things about this motor? Can you tell me what model years you guys are interested in? And can you tell me the engine code(s) in the VIN for this engine. We can see if any of these use the same ECM as one which we have already worked on (the 06's seem most promising to us). Please let us know.

THanks,
Dave @ carputing.com

Subject: LSJ Tuning.

Hello,
I emailed you guys a few months ago about perhaps tuning the LSJ motor (2.0L Ecotec factory FI) found in the cobalt ss and ion redline. You said that after you were done with the LS2 tuning you would see what engine needed it most. To be quite honest, the lsj tuners are running out of room. If we strap a 3" pully on the supercharger, our A/f goes crazy. Just simple things like CAI kits often throw codes and if I'm not mistaken some exhausts throw 'false' lean codes. So far, no piggy back system or ecu tricking has had any 'real' effect. And still to this day, 2 years after the introduction of the Ion Redline, tuning is still not available.

Thanks,
Stephen

I'll hook up my scan tool when I get home and get the calibration number, vin number, and verification number out of my pcm and send it to you...its an 05.

Dan

The colorado/canyon uses this pcm as well a long with the cobalt lsj. Spooner and WOP would know the rest.

I believe the id is P12, it's in the thread about the solstice ECU, and it's right on the back of the ECU. Pops right off the bracket and you can look at it.
