Boost gauge and interceptor reading different psi levels.

After putting on my header..

I know the header is suppose to drop my boost levels because of engine efficiency..

my autometer boost gauge and interceptor read different boost levels..

The interceptor reads 5-6 psi more than the autometer does...

Which one is correct?

Keep in mind the autometer shows a vaccum reading while the interceptor shows a electronic reading..

Well, unless there's something modifying the signal, the car thinks you're making the amount as shown on the Interceptor. Unless you're mechanical gauge has a leak, or is just plain broken, they're pretty foolproof... that's a tough question.

Then your car's MAP sensor(s) aren't working right... or it's something less obvious on the autometer. If you're sure that the autometer is working, then the only other answer is that the car is wrong about it's boost level. I had the comp pkg gauge and my autometer hooked up at the same time, and they were identical. My comp pkg gauge and the interceptor currently sync up exactly.

My autometer never reads the same as my interceptor. When the engine is in vaccuum, its about half the reading, ie, my boost gauge reads 24hg and the interceptor will read about 12. Now in boost, my boost gauge has gotten to 13 on a cold night, when my interceptor has only topped off at 10.7, even on a colder night. Honestly I trust the boost gauge since it is mechanical and it directly at the source, jmo.

As far as the vacuum part goes, the gauge is reading a different scale than the Interceptor. The Interceptor measuere vacuum in psi instead of in of mercury...

The Interceptor simply shows the pressure read at the MAP sensor, mine is accurate.

No one can tell you. I would go with the Interceptor... it's just passing along what the cars computer is reading.

One thing is under full WOT i notice the update time on the interceptor goes down to sometime once every 2 seconds... Your interceptor might just not be reporting when you are at full boost. What about partial boost, say 5 psi or something. is it the same as the interceptor or still above the interceptor.
