Hahhaha!!! I knew it!!!! Guy at the Satty dealership yesterday was trying to tell me and Robert (TXLRU) that the stg kits weren't gonna work on the 04's because they have "completely different computers".

He also dogged on me for my boost bypass mod and said that's a quick way to blow up my engine. AND that we're not able to run a smaller pulley safely AT ALL on a stock car.

Gotta love those Service tech managers.

Also, sounds to me that there is only one reflash. Hope so. That would be fooking KILLER!!!!!!!1

Wait a sec though....

In order for Stg 2 to include a smaller pulley and really be beneficial, they'd have to reflash the computer to allow it to see more than 12.5 psi of boost. If not, the boost is gonna bleed off at 12.5 still. If there is only one reflash then it would have to allow the engine to see more boost even with stg 1.

Correct???

Arrow

does anybody know if a billetproof 2.9 that would aiready be installed would work the same as the pulley that GM is going to be selling w/ the kit. And what is the price going to be for both kits. I'm wanting to get a sc pulley for my car but wondering if I should wait for the stage II kit.

A 2.9 with a 7k redline will spin the S/C past 14K and in to the Unsafe zone. Im not willing to risk it my self.

And the parts guy at my dealer spent like 20 min trying to cross referance the parts for the stage kits and found that the stage one and stage two have to differant part #s for the reflash.

Later

Damn I wondered around Autorama looking for the GM set up on Saturday before this was posted. It probably didn't help that I was totally out of it coming down with the flu and not really feeling the whole car thing because of it, but I couldn't find this display anywhere in there. Oh well, at least this makes it more official. I wish I would have found these posters and people to talk to to get an estimate of when these become available....

Since they give all these nice instructions, do you guys think that we would still void our warranty if we installed everything ourselves? Again I wish I would have found this so I could have asked this. It doesn't seem like the install is very hard where it would void anything, because I want to be able to do it myself and not worry about it. Not just to save the money to pay for install, but because it's funner that way.

I'm pretty sure the output numbers of these kits aren't underrated like our engines were, since they show the nice dyno graphs with em. You never know though, they could make more (or less) power on each of our cars. Hard to say before they get dynoed on our actual cars once available.

That was the first thing I noticed too. That is a bit of a bummer. On another note, it tells me that if I'm gonna do stage one I have to do stage 2 to make it worth while.
