Currently crateengines.com is taking back orders for the stage 2 kits right now. The stage 1 is due any day now and stage 2 by the end of this month. GM stated that both kits would be available Q1 of this year and as of now, nobody has heard GM change that schedule. Please watch out for the rumor mill spin by sources as "some guy".

agreed, heresay is the worst at this rumor stuffs.....Tom at crate engine depot is staying on top, by stg1 is still not available also, so hopefully soon...I especially love the "my brothers, mothers, boyfriends fathers, sister, heard at the local chevy dealers son's barmitzvah that the kits were delayed..."

I didn't notice this posted (sry if it was) but Stage 2 looks nice for 2 main reasons.
Nice jump in tourque but did you notice that even thought the hp is basically the same it reaches is much sooner. You can shift and still stay within the peak hp range instead of constantly climbing up to it.

Even if that guy was someone representing GM, the people at car shows are usually paid models that are given scripts to memorize. So I wouldn't take anything they say as fact. One of the models at NAIAS tried to convince me that the SKY Redline would come with the 2.0L S/C that's in the IRL. I just laughed and said "then why does the Solstice GXP right over there have the t/c 2.0?" Hahaha I think he tried to defend himself, but then finally came out and said, "I don't know."

Post Better than GM's kit....

Hey, I just ordered a kit from this place that is only about an hour from where I live. They specialize in Grand Prix GTP's mainly, but they have something for the Redline/Cobalt SS... Its only $525 and they put it on a Cobalt SS and it put down 270 on the dyno with nothing but their kit. It includes 42.5lb injectors, Casper's wiring harness for the injectors, new spark plugs, MAF Translator, and 2.8" pulley for the s/c. On their site ( www.intense-racing.com ) it has in the LSJ/performance package/stage 3 the dyno sheets. It was exactly 270hp/236lb!!!!! It had 14psi at 3200rpm and by the time it was done it was at 17psi.

Also, to pick up the slack from the belt, they have a simple solution...a larger idler pulley. It is only 2.5" stock so they have one for $20 that is 3.0" since its a drop of .5" in the s/c pulley. I will hopefully get mine soon and have it on the following weekend! Oh and the truly best part is that its all plug and play...they said that it can be done in about 2 hours. I'm going to take mine to the track later this month and test it against some built SRT-4's
